In the ancient Maya tradition,  there were everyday wear and more formal wear. Their day to day clothes would consist of: a loin cloth or short skirt for men and a hupil or long skirt for woman. Most of these were made of cotton, bark cloth or hemp fibre.

Did u know that, the Mayas weaved lace into their hair?

Fun fact, the amount of decoration on your footwear depended on your social status.

When Mayas made their clothes the designed them to drape not to fit.

 Mayan inventions an innovations.

In the Mayan times, people had different opinions on architecture; they also had limited supplies to work with. Many build their own house or naah as they Maya called it. In fact they build houses oblong. Next they build the walls with clay to keep it strong. Finlay they thatched palm leaves for the roof. It usually has two rooms, one for cooking and one for sleeping; the toilet and bathing area are outside with the live stock.

Even though it was a long time ago, we still use some of the Maya’s inventions today. One of their inventions is the calendar; they used it to keep track of religious ceremony and wayeb days -days of misfortune where everyone stays at home. It involves numbers as a date system, also its made of two parts consisting of the tzolkin and the haab to show different parts of the year.
